MONICA FLYNN

Monica is a member of the Upper Blue Mountains Ladies Probus Club, and is a Past President. She lives in Leura.
Monica’s academic background includes a Bachelor Degree in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Social Administration. Monica has worked in hospitals in Australia and London. She has also worked in management positions in the NSW and the Commonwealth Public Sectors as well as the Community Services Sector.
Monica became interested in patchwork quilting some 25 years ago. Since her retirement, she has been involved in two Probus quilting groups in Leura.
In 2017, she expanded her interest into Textile Art, in which she has found many opportunities for artistic expression.
The War in the Pacific series is the first series which Monica has exhibited publicly. It was inspired by her father’s experiences as a Japanese prisoner of war. This series shows her interest in combining concepts, words and fabrics.
