Deputy Government Solicitor – Constitutional Litigation
Andrew has spent most of his career as a lawyer for the Commonwealth Government. He is the leader of the Constitutional Litigation Unit of the Australian Government Solicitor, a position he has held since 2008.
Andrew oversees all constitutional cases involving the Commonwealth and has been involved in most of the leading constitutional cases decided by the High Court over the past sixteen years.
He will be explaining the role of the Constitution in shaping Australia’s system of Government, and will take you behind the headlines to explain some recent high profile decisions.
